3 WAYS TO VERIFY AUTHENTICITY OF YOUR CONSUMER EMAIL LIST:
1) FULL NAME + DIRECT ADDRESS
ALWAYS request “full name” AND direct mail address of email recipient when ordering email addresses. If list seller refuses to provide these two key elements … then proceed with great caution … since highly likely the email list is nothing more than random email addresses … wrong target market. 2) REQUESTING DIRECT MAIL ADDRESS IS A WARNING TO THE EMAIL LIST SELLER.
By excluding the direct mail address/contact name from the email list, one could sell random email addresses and slap any type of label on the email addresses; the buyer would never know! The seller could advertise seniors but provide a list of teenagers; affluent households but provide a list of low income households. HOWEVER, with the direct mail address and contact name, the email buyer can easily verify that the purchased email addresses consist of the RIGHT target market. In fact the email list buyer could use a verification report to possibly gain a reverse charge from their credit card company. Email list sellers know this, and that’s why many of the low cost email list sellers won’t provide the direct mail address and email recipient’s contact name. Bottom-line, never buy an email list that doesn’t include the “full” name (first/last) of the email recipient … AND a “deliverable” direct mail address.
3) PROFILE ANALYSIS OF YOUR PURCHASED EMAIL LIST
